Bittersweet
I first saw the Grateful Dead at Deer Creek Music Center on 7/15/89 as a result of both of my brothers having jobs at the facility. Thereafter I I saw every GD show at Deer Creek (I bought tickets, my brothers could let me on the lawn, but that was about it). I grew up on a farm about 2 miles from DCMC, and I had convinced my parents to let campers stay in our pasture each summer since 1992 (I did the full1991 summer tour and hadn't convinced them to open it yet). This show represents such a bittersweet experience for me. Attics is one of my all-time favorites and even in 1995 it was so sweet to hear. AT THE SHOW, I was down in front so I had no Earthly notion of what was happening outside. It was only at set break did I have a vague picture of what had happened, but I was unconcerned as it seemed from inside, at least, that the situation was under control. I could not have been more wrong. After the show, there was a lot of discussion over the gatecrashers. Being from Noblesville, I had to have known some of them, right? I've watched footage so many times, but I don't recognize anyone. I'm simultaneously relieved but still in despair over this event. I should have known, as at the Pyramid on 4/1/95 I also saw people literally stampeding the ticket checkers. They just shoved their way past them, overwhelming the ticket checkers and the security behind them. It was appalling. The nerve of those people just feeling so entitled to something that the rest of us had in some way, shape, or form, paid for, still makes me so sad. The next day, we learned that the second show was cancelled. It was heartbreaking. If you want to hear just the music from this one, I suggest a different recording without the stage chatter. Hearing Phil say, "Hey, there's a riot going on out there, we don't need to drag this out" right before Attics still just kills me.

Not that great
Not that great of a show, Yes I was there, you can hear it in Jerry's performance. I guess the Sleep apnea and running full throttle all those years did him in.

Amazing chatter
I had never heard this version with Phil's chatter. "Look at the back wall" and "There's a riot outside, let's hurry this up". I was there. My last Dead show. At first it seemed kinda cool that a FEW people got over the fence but then they started coming over like an army of invaders which is indeed what they were. There was no room on the lawn and we were crowded in by all these freeloaders. I got lost during Speedway and ended up by the tapers and looked up at all the boom mikes and I thought I was in the forest. Crazy night! Now I know what tear gas smells like!

My One and Only
To me it seemed huge, this venue. Everything was larger than life. I'm no Grateful Dead scholar, and might only have gotten on the bus in 1993, but I will never get off and wouldn't trade the fact that I at least got to see Jerry Garcia alive once for anything - no matter the people who felt entitled enough to be in there that they tore the fence down. I just wish I'd have been with better people and gotten closer to the stage. I rate this a five not because I'm a GD scholar or because of its quality compared to other shows throughout their years, but because it holds such sentimental value for me.

so sad
I was at this show...the vibe was all positive up until a couple hundred dickheads decided to crash the gate(the sad thing is deer creek was such an intimate setting, you could hang in the lot and hear the show very well, and usually enjoy it with the comraderie of some great people)...I loved going to Deer Creek...Still have my ticket for the second night that was cancelled....was so mad about what happened, skipped going to soldier field..which ultimately was the last 2 shows..really bummed I didnt go..But the show was nice! How I miss those days

My last show second row
I remember standing right in front of Jerry. Ah, I love the Creek, It was so small and easy to get up close! A lot of people were getting critical and negative about the playing around that time but I felt Jerry was playing as hot as ever,I was wowed yet once again, as if I was at my first show, though it was my 100th! Amazing Let it Grow, and Fire on the mountain!
